Text Box:    Attending shows has been a great way to meet fellow alpaca owners, make friends and gain insight into what the industry needs and wants.  Watching the judging gives direction for your breeding program.  Because, let’s face it - everyone wants that broad ribbon winner!!
Being so far from other breeders (the nearest is in Gin Gin 4 hours away) has led to feelings of isolation when things are going wrong and very lengthy STD calls at the first hint of trouble.  Not having an experienced alpaca/llama veterinary surgeon at hand has not been great for new alpaca owners.  The veterinary surgeons in Yeppoon have been learning madly in the same way as the Grice’s - trial and error, surf the net and make many long distance phone calls to experienced people who have “been there-done that”.

Text Box:    About forty five minutes from Rockhampton, not far from the sunny coast of Yeppoon live the Grice family and their small herd of alpacas.
Yeppoon is a tourist destination of unparalleled brilliance for families.  It’s laid back and relaxed approach equalled the way the Grice’s wanted to bring up their children.  The area also boasts excellent public and private schools, a soccer club (very important), terrific fishing, grandparents in Rockhampton and Yeppoon and all the amenities you would expect to find in an up and coming town.
On their thirty acres they have twenty alpacas comprising of stock from New South Wales, South Australia and Queensland.  Sixteen suri and four huacayas.  All much loved and important to their long term plans.
